Border Collie

Anyone have some suggestions where we could possibly find a local rancher or family that might raise some border collies and possibly have puppies?

We are looking for a young male.

Try the shelters, there's probably one there that needs a home.

A good place to look is at the feedstores. A lot of times the ranchers post ads there for ranching dogs since they know other ranchers maybe looking for the type of breed they need.

I have heard of one just outside of Burnet, I think she lost her husband a few years ago but I remember reading where she was planning on continuing to raise the border collies. We got ours at Texas Seven Links Ranch just out of Brownwood, Texas.

A couple weeks ago there were some listed at Dr. Dan McBride's vet clinic in Burnet on 29 across from the Dodge Dealer. Good Luck.

The shelters often have full bred pups. And they are usually wonderful.

If you are interested, I have a girlfriend that has a female that is under a year old looking for a good home. Pure white with just a splash of color...a real sweetheart.

Thanks Reba, but we already have a female border collie and we are looking to bring a male border collie into her life & our family.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've called the vets & feed stores in the area to no avail. I am looking/checking the shelters.

Highland Lakes SPCA , has a sweetheart that is either bordercollie or aussie mix. He is solid black. His personality reminds me of the australian shepherd we use to have. He is such a great dog. His name is Benjamin.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

About 10 days ago we noticed an ad in the Picayune from a local family advertising border collie pups. Fortunately, they had the PERFECT puppy for us and now the whole family loves "Hank."
