The Salvation Army

Bring joy to the heart of a hungry child this Christmas.

Please remember our community’s hungry children this Christmas. Make a generous donation to The Salvation Army to provide our neediest girls and boys with a festive holiday meal. And fill their hearts with the joy of the season so they’ll know they haven’t been forgotten.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

You can donate here:

and specify that your donation is for your local community.

This is one charity we can support with confidence.
We hear so much about charities giving only a small portion of the money they collect to the needy.
Salvation Army doesn't feed Fat-cats.

I too like The Salvation Army. Here is another option: UMCOR is the united Methodist Church Committee on Relief and 100% of all donations go to relief efforts. All expenses are covered by donations and volunteers.

Don't the local Rotary Clubs ring the bells for the Salvation Army at local businesses? I've heard that all of that money stays with local SA efforts.

It is not too late to give to the Salvation Army, or another charity if you have a favorite. Your money does good things and you get a 2013 tax deduction. Just my opinion, but I think the Salvation Army will make better use of the money than the Federal Government.

Happy New Year!
