I've been thinking about the issue of this young man carrying two flags in celebration of his win.

Lets say I leave the US and train in another country, pick one, lets pick Mexico for this example.

So I work my butt off training, trying to be the absolute best I can be.
I then sign on with the Mexican Olympic Committee.
I let Mexico pay for my way to the Olympics.
I let Mexico furnish all of my meals.
I let Mexico furnish all of my Housing costs.
I accept the free condoms ( sorry, I had to throw that in, that's another issue)
I let Mexico furnish my clothing.
I let Mexico do my laundry.

Do you see where I'm going with this.

Unfortunately, this young man will not be remembered for winning his medal.

I have long complained about all of the other Countries that send their athletes to the USA to train with our coaches, our facilities, often live with our families , frequently attend our schools and then compete against us.
Never in my recollection did they ever carry a USA flag along with their own.
I am afraid Leo has made a huge error in judgement and I am very disappointed. A silver medal doesn't go too far and I am afraid his will now go even less. So sorry...

Part of being on a team is placing the team first, and yourself second. Leo placed his own desires above that of the team, and that was wrong. If you don't know which team you are playing for, don't expect the support of those you represent!

Dual citizenship, many people have it. He is a great American and has represented the US well as he has Mexico. We are all from other places, well at least our grand parents were.
